Political Clash Over Andhra Pradesh's Growth
Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, the leader of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), said that Andhra Pradesh did really well in making things and building industries from 2019 to 2024.
He showed some numbers from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to prove that the state was number one in South India and fifth in the whole country for making things.
He also said the state was number one in South India and eighth in the country for industries.
Jagan said that the people in power now, the TDP and Jana Sena, are saying bad things about his time as leader, but the numbers show that's not true.
He asked if the state's success looks like a 'destruction of Brand Andhra Pradesh' or a 'booming economy'.
The TDP and Jana Sena didn't say anything right away about what Jagan said.
YSRCP president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy rejected claims that Andhra Pradesh's brand value suffered during his tenure.
He cited RBI data showing the state ranked fifth nationally and first in South India in manufacturing growth (2019-2024).
Andhra Pradesh also topped industrial sector growth in South India and secured the eighth position nationally.
Jagan questioned the narrative of the ruling TDP and Jana Sena, alleging their claims have been exposed as lies.
No immediate response from the TDP or Jana Sena to Jagan's claims.
