AP Launches Energy-Efficient Housing Drive
The Andhra Pradesh government has started a big project to make 5 lakh homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) more energy-efficient.
They signed an agreement with two other organizations to provide special appliances like LED bulbs and fans that save electricity.
This will help families save money on their electricity bills and also help the environment.
The project was announced at a big energy conference in Goa.
The government says this is a great way to make homes more affordable and sustainable.
They even did a small test with 18,000 homes and it worked well, so now they are expanding it to more homes.
