Korean Investors Lose Faith in Tesla, Shift to Crypto
South Korean investors are losing interest in Tesla and selling their shares.
They sold a lot of Tesla stock in August, the most since at least 2019.
Instead, they're putting money into things like cryptocurrencies, especially Bitmine, which is like investing in Ether.
This change shows that people are less enthusiastic about Tesla, which used to be very popular.
Even though many Koreans still hold Tesla stock, they are now moving their money elsewhere.
Investors are moving away from Tesla, and into riskier investment.
South Korean retail investors sold a net $657 million of Tesla stock in August.
Investors have been shifting to investments like Bitmine Immersion Technologies, a proxy for Ether.
The $1.8 billion outflow over the past four months indicates waning enthusiasm for Tesla among Korean investors.
Tesla remains the top foreign stock held by Korean retail traders, totaling about $21.9 billion.
The TSLL ETF, offering leveraged Tesla exposure, also saw its biggest monthly outflow since early 2024.
