Govt. Tightens Cybersecurity Rules for Solar Power Data Safety
The government is making sure solar panels on your roof are safe from hackers.
They're doing this because the PM Surya Ghar scheme adds lots of new solar power, which could cause problems if not managed securely.
They want to stop hackers from taking control of the inverters that convert solar power to usable power, as well as stealing important energy usage information.
To do this, new rules say the inverters need special secure connections and send data directly to government servers.
This is to protect against cyberattacks and keep the power grid stable and your data safe.
MNRE introduces new data and cybersecurity regulations for rooftop solar plants.
The rules aim to prevent cyberattacks and data breaches related to the PM Surya Ghar scheme.
The integration of one crore rooftop solar plants poses grid stability and cybersecurity challenges.
Data transmission must use Machine-to-Machine (M2M) SIM protocol.
Inverters must connect directly to national servers managed by MNRE or designated agencies.
