NHAI Raises Sanwara Toll Rates for Himachal Trips
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has increased the toll rates at the Sanwara toll plaza in Himachal Pradesh.
This means that trips to popular hill stations like Shimla, Kasauli, and Chail via the Kalka-Shimla National Highway-5 will now cost more.
The new rates apply to different types of vehicles and include options for one-way travel, return journeys, monthly passes, and special rates for vehicles registered in the district.
For example, cars will now pay Rs 110 for a one-way trip instead of the previous Rs 70.
The NHAI says the increase is to pay for the completion of four-lane projects on the highway, although some sections are still being upgraded.
NHAI increased toll rates at Sanwara toll plaza for trips to Himachal Pradesh hill stations.
New rates apply to various vehicle categories, including cars, buses, trucks, and heavy machinery.
One-way toll for cars increased from Rs 70 to Rs 110.
Monthly passes and return journey rates also revised, with higher charges for larger vehicles.
NHAI justifies the increase due to the completion of four-lane projects on the Kalka-Shimla National Highway-5.
