Lakhimpur to Get Water From Subansiri River, Phase II Launched
The town of Lakhimpur is getting a new water source!
Instead of using wells that might have unhealthy stuff, they're going to get water from the Subansiri River.
This change aims to make sure everyone has clean and safe water to drink.
They're building a long pipe to bring the river water to the town.
Phase 1 of the project is already in progress, and Phase 2, which includes areas not covered before, is just starting.
The new phase is expected to be finished in two years, thanks to a lot of work and money.
Lakhimpur's water supply will now draw from the Subansiri River, replacing deep tube wells.
The decision aims to ensure clean and safe drinking water for residents.
A 3,940-metre pipeline will be laid for the shift.
Phase II of the water supply project has been launched, including previously excluded areas.
Phase II is expected to complete within two years with an investment of ₹64.99 crore.
