India Launches Kaziranga Elevated Corridor
India has built a special elevated road called the Kaziranga Elevated Corridor in Assam.
This road is above the ground and allows animals to move safely underneath.
The road connects important places and helps animals cross from Kaziranga National Park to the hills.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi started this project.
The road is very long and cost a lot of money to build.
It will help animals like rhinos and birds move safely without being hit by cars.
Some people are worried that building the road might disturb the animals, but others think it will help in the long run.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 34.5-kilometre Kaziranga Elevated Corridor in Assam on January 17.
The corridor aims to reduce animal roadkill by providing a safer passage for wildlife crossing National Highway 715.
The project involves upgrading 30.22 km of existing roads and constructing 21 km of greenfield bypasses.
The corridor will decongest traffic and improve connectivity between Guwahati, Kaziranga National Park, and Numaligarh.
Concerns have been raised about the impact of construction on wildlife, but experts believe it will be a permanent solution to the problem.
