Kerala Approves Rs 14.5 Crore for Sabarimala Road Safety

Kerala is spending Rs 14.5 crore to make roads to Sabarimala safer.

Sabarimala receives many pilgrims during its annual pilgrimage season.

The government approved 60 major road safety works costing Rs 13.19 crore.

Another Rs 69.79 lakh will support projects proposed by the Pathanamthitta District Road Safety Council.

Workers will install barriers near sharp turns and steep drops.

They will also add road markings, warning signs, mirrors and solar lights.

Some roads will be repaired and improved with drainage work.

Officials say the urgent work will be finished before pilgrims begin arriving for the season on November 16.
