Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said the state had hired more than 10,000 teachers in three years.

He said 4,000 more teachers would be hired in the next six months.

The state has opened more than 150 CBSE schools, and about 2,000 teachers have been appointed to them.

He also announced a scheme that would give eligible women ₹1,500 a month.

Eligible families would also receive up to 300 units of free electricity under the scheme.
