IEPFA Proposes Simplified Claims Process for Investors
The IEPFA, part of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, wants to make it easier for investors to get their money back.
A committee has suggested simpler paperwork for claims, especially for smaller amounts.
If adopted, this means investors with unclaimed dividends, physical shares up to ₹5 lakh or demat shares up to ₹15 lakh, and dividends up to ₹10,000, would find the process easier.
The goal is to make things faster and clearer, so investors can more easily claim their funds.
IEPFA received recommendations for simplified documentation.
The initiative aims to reduce timelines and improve transparency.
The committee comprised representatives from various organizations.
Industry associations were also part of the committee.
Suggestions apply to claims up to specified monetary values.
