Bombay HC Orders No OC Without Sewage Management
The Bombay High Court told city officials in Maharashtra not to give final approval to any new buildings unless the builders have proper plans and have built sewage treatment plants.
They also said they will punish builders who don't follow these rules.
This is because many buildings are dumping dirty water into the Ulhas River without treating it first.
A man from Badlapur complained about a building project that wasn't following the rules, and the court made this decision.
Bombay High Court directed civic authorities not to issue Occupancy Certificates without proper sewage management.
Developers must comply with approved plans and build Sewage Treatment Plants for high-rise buildings.
Civic authorities ordered to blacklist developers failing to provide STPs or sewage management.
Court noted the issue of sewage dumping into the Ulhas River involving 438 alleged unauthorized structures.
Order came after a plea by Badlapur resident against constructions by developer A Plus Lifespace.
