Pakistan Receives $1.2 Billion from IMF
Pakistan's central bank got $1.2 billion from the IMF.
This money is part of a bigger loan plan to help Pakistan deal with climate change.
The IMF checked Pakistan's progress and then gave the money.
Pakistan is getting $7 billion in total from the IMF over about three years.
This is the second time the IMF has checked the bigger loan and the first time for the smaller loan.
The IMF also added 11 new conditions, like making high-level officials share their assets publicly and creating a plan to fight corruption.
Pakistan needs to follow these rules to get more money from the IMF.
Pakistan's central bank received $1.2 billion from the IMF as part of an ongoing loan programme for climate resilience.
The IMF's Executive Board completed the second review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and the first review of the Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF).
Pakistan is currently in its 24th IMF programme, agreed last year to provide $7 billion over 39 months.
The IMF imposed 11 new conditions, including governance reforms and anti-corruption measures, bringing the total number of binding obligations to 64.
The release of the next tranche of funds is contingent on Pakistan meeting these new and pending benchmarks.
