Tai Ahom Community Protests for ST Status in Assam
Over 10,000 people from the Tai Ahom community held a protest in Assam, India, to ask the government to give them a special status called "Scheduled Tribe."
This status would give them certain rights and benefits.
They marched and chanted slogans, saying they were promised this status before, but it has not happened yet.
They warned the government that if they don't get the status by the next election, they will not vote for the current government.
The Chief Minister has said he is working on it and a report will be presented soon, but the protesters are worried and plan to keep protesting.
