India's First Digital Accessibility Map Launched
Cure SMA India has launched e-Swayam, a special map that helps people find places that are easy to access.
It was introduced on a day that celebrates people with disabilities.
The map is made by people who take care of others with disabilities.
It shows places that are easy to move around in, like wheelchair-friendly paths.
The map will get better over time and include more types of disabilities.
Big companies and organizations helped make this map.
The goal is to make India a better place for everyone, including people with disabilities and older adults.
Cure SMA India launched e-Swayam, India’s first community-driven Digital Accessibility Map.
The platform was unveiled on International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2025 in Hyderabad.
e-Swayam provides real-time, experience-based data on mobility accessibility.
The platform is supported by UNDP, HMRL, Microsoft, Google, and civil society.
Developed by caregivers of individuals with SMA, it aims to expand to all disabilities by 2027.
