YS Jagan supports tobacco farmers' protests
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the president of the YSRCP, has promised to support tobacco farmers in their protests.
He said his party will tour major tobacco-growing areas to push the government to help farmers get better prices for their tobacco.
Farmers are struggling because only a small amount of tobacco has been bought this season, and the prices are very low.
Jagan blamed the government for not stopping traders from forming groups that control the market and exploit farmers.
He reminded everyone that his previous government had set up a fund to help farmers when prices were unstable.
He said the YSRCP will keep protesting until the farmers get fair treatment.

Only 38 million kg of tobacco has been procured out of 232 million kg produced this season.
Tobacco prices have fallen to Rs 130 per kg, despite a promised minimum of Rs 200 per kg.
Jagan accused the government of not preventing trader syndicates and exploiting farmers.
