Western Railway Extends OTP-Based Tatkal Authentication
Western Railway is adding a new safety step for booking Tatkal train tickets.
Starting December 24, 2025, four more trains will require passengers to enter a special code sent to their phone to confirm their booking.
This code, called an OTP, helps make sure only real passengers can book tickets.
The system is already used on 21 other trains and will now be available at ticket counters, through agents, and on the IRCTC website and app.
This change aims to make the booking process fairer and more secure.
Western Railway extends OTP-based Tatkal authentication to four more trains from December 24, 2025.
The affected trains are 14702, 19037, 19483, and 22956.
OTP verification is required for Tatkal bookings made through PRS counters, agents, IRCTC website, and mobile app.
The system has already been implemented on 21 Western Railway-originating trains.
The move aims to ensure transparency and improve access for genuine passengers.
