UAE Introduces Online Declaration for High-Value Goods
The UAE now wants people to tell them about valuable things they're bringing in or taking out of the country, like cash or jewelry, if it's worth more than a certain amount.
This is done online before you get to customs using a special app.
If you're older than 18, you need to do this yourself.
If you're younger, your parent or guardian needs to do it.
You'll need to create an account and provide details about your trip and the items.
This helps to stop money laundering and illegal activities.
It's free and supposed to make things faster.
UAE requires travelers to declare valuables exceeding Dh60,000 online before customs.
The declaration process is done via the Afseh platform, accessible online and through a mobile app.
Requirements apply to those 18 and older, covering cash, cheques, and high-value personal goods.
Passengers must create an Afseh account using UAE Pass and provide travel and item details.
The service is free and aims to expedite clearance while combating illegal activities.
