CBI Cases Postmaster Over Alleged Rs 3.71 Crore Siphoning

The CBI has opened two cases against a former postmaster in Andhra Pradesh.

Officials accuse him of taking money from the savings accounts of 310 customers.

The amount involved is reported to be Rs 3.71 crore.

The customers allegedly did not know about the withdrawals.

Some money was reportedly returned or paid when customers later came to withdraw funds.

Officials say other amounts were misappropriated.

A postal investigation reportedly found evidence of the alleged wrongdoing.

The CBI later searched the accused officer’s home.
