Bhopal Teacher Candidates End Hunger Strike After Vacancy Assurance

Bhopal Teacher Candidates End Hunger Strike After Vacancy Assurance

Some teacher candidates in Bhopal had been refusing food for 16 days.

They wanted the government to create more teaching vacancies.

Former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh visited them and spoke with the school education minister.

The minister said the issue had already been brought to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s attention.

The candidates agreed to end their hunger strike after a meeting was promised for Tuesday.

Another group of guest teachers also protested in Bhopal.

They want to become regular government teachers.

They said they may begin an indefinite hunger strike on October 2 if their demands are not addressed.
