Andhra Pradesh: Almont-Kid Syrup Not Supplied
The State Drug Control Administration in Andhra Pradesh has said that a children's medicine called Almont-Kid syrup, which was found to have harmful stuff in it, was not sold or given to anyone in the state.
They checked all the medicine shops and found no signs of this medicine being sold there.
But they are still checking to make sure it wasn't sold anywhere.
The medicine was made by a company in Bihar and was found to have too much of a bad chemical in it during tests in Kolkata.
Almont-Kid syrup, manufactured by Tridus Remedies in Bihar, was found to contain excessive ethylene glycol in batch AL-24002.
The State Drug Control Administration (DCA) of Andhra Pradesh clarified that the syrup was not supplied or sold in the state.
Inspections were initiated across Andhra Pradesh following the findings, but no sales were found in private pharmacies.
The DCA is continuing inspections and examining billing records to ensure the syrup did not circulate in the state.
The press release was issued on Sunday to inform the public about the situation.
