Delhi Orders Shutdown of Unauthorized Meat Shops for Kanwar Yatra
The city of New Delhi is getting ready for a big religious trip called the Kanwar Yatra.
Lots of people will travel to collect holy water from the Ganga and bring it back to temples.
The city’s government, called the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, wants to make sure the roads and camps are clean and safe.
They told all city zones to close any meat shops that aren’t allowed and to check that licensed shops follow rules.
They also asked workers to clean up the camps, cut weeds, and pick up trash all day and night.
This will help keep the pilgrims healthy and the city tidy during the festival.
MCD orders closure of all unauthorized meat shops along Kanwar Yatra routes and near camps.
Licensed meat shops violating permit conditions will also face action.
All 12 city zones must remove encroachments from identified camp sites before the pilgrimage.
Intensive sanitation drives, including deep cleaning and garbage collection, will be carried out at camps.
The pilgrimage will run from July 30 to August 11 with 308 camps across New Delhi.
