BSF jawan arrested for allegedly killing wife with iron rod
The police arrested a soldier who guards India's borders.
His name is Amarjeet Singh.
They say he hurt his wife, Rama, very badly with a heavy iron rod.
Rama was hurt so badly that she died.
Amarjeet was home on a break from his job at the time.
People say the couple had a big argument that night.
Amarjeet told Rama's family that she fell off the roof, but the police think that was not true.
Rama's family says Amarjeet had been unkind to her for many years.
Amarjeet and Rama had been married for about 12 years and had two children.
Now the police have arrested Amarjeet.
A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan, Amarjeet Singh, was arrested for allegedly killing his wife Rama with an iron rod in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur.
Rama, in her mid-30s, had been married to Amarjeet Singh for around 12 years, and the couple had two children — a son and a daughter.
Rama’s family alleged that Amarjeet Singh had physically and mentally harassed her since their marriage and frequently assaulted her.
The incident allegedly took place on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday after Amarjeet Singh, who was on leave, returned home and an argument broke out.
