Telangana Scheme Gives Women Free Bus Travel
The government in Telangana has started a free bus travel program called the Mahalakshmi scheme for women and transgender individuals.
This means they can travel on buses without paying.
A government official said this gives women more freedom and helps the bus company.
The government is also improving roads and buying new buses, including electric ones, to make travel better.
The bus company has also received money from the government to cover the cost of the free rides.
Because of this scheme, many more women are using buses now.
