Vadhvan Port Construction to Begin Soon
India is building a very big new port called Vadhvan in Maharashtra.
Before they can start building, they need to buy land from 24 villages.
The land buying process is taking time because some local people are worried about their homes and jobs.
The port will have special areas for ships, buildings, and roads.
The government has already given some money and chosen companies to do the work.
Once they get the land, they can start building the port, which will help India move more goods by sea.
Construction of Vadhvan port to begin in 1-2 months after land acquisition is completed.
Land acquisition for 606 hectares across 24 villages is estimated to cost ₹2,000 crore.
Major contracts for nearshore reclamation and breakwater construction have been awarded.
Forest clearances and regulatory approvals are still pending, causing some delays.
The port project, costing ₹76,220 crore, aims to operationalize four container terminals by 2030.
