ASEAN Mediates Thailand-Cambodia Border Conflict
Thailand and Cambodia have been fighting at their border, which has caused many people to die and over half a million to leave their homes.
ASEAN, a group of Southeast Asian countries, is meeting in Malaysia to try to stop the fighting.
Malaysia, which is leading the meeting, hopes that Thailand and Cambodia can talk and find a peaceful solution.
The U.S. and China have also tried to help but haven't succeeded yet.
The meeting will use information from satellites and observations to help make decisions.
Both countries blame each other for the fighting, and Thailand has even stopped sending fuel through a border checkpoint with Laos.
Renewed fighting along the Thailand-Cambodia border has killed at least 39 people and displaced over half a million.
ASEAN members, led by Malaysia, are meeting to mediate the conflict and revive a collapsed ceasefire.
Thailand and Cambodia accuse each other of violating the ceasefire and escalating the conflict.
The conflict stems from a territorial dispute linked to colonial-era border demarcation and ancient temple ruins.
The U.S. and China previously brokered a truce that collapsed, and Thailand has accused Cambodia of laying fresh mines.
