Raj Thackeray Opposes Hindi Mandate in Maharashtra Schools
Imagine schools in Maharashtra wanted to teach kids Hindi, but some people, like Raj Thackeray, didn't want that.
He wants kids to only learn Marathi and English at first.
He wrote a letter to the government saying they should only teach those two languages.
If the government doesn't listen, he said he would protest.
The government had originally planned to make Hindi compulsory but changed their minds because of all the objections and will make a new rule about it later.
Raj Thackeray, MNS chief, opposes compulsory Hindi in schools.
Thackeray wrote to the state government demanding only Marathi and English in schools.
He threatened protests if the government doesn't comply with his demand.
The government initially mandated Hindi for Classes 1-5, then stayed the order.
A fresh government resolution is expected.
