Carey Content in Batting Role, No Plans to Replace Inglis
Alex Carey, an Australian cricketer, is happy to play as a batter in the one-day international (ODI) team and doesn't want to be the wicketkeeper anymore.
He used to be the keeper for five years but was replaced by Josh Inglis.
Carey got a chance to play again when Inglis was injured and did well.
He was also called up for the T20 series recently and enjoyed the experience.
Alex Carey is content playing as a specialist batter in ODIs, not seeking to reclaim the wicketkeeping role.
Carey was the ODI keeper for five years before being dropped during the 2023 World Cup.
Josh Inglis is currently the first-choice wicket-keeper.
Carey was recalled to the ODI team last September due to Inglis's injury and performed well.
Carey was called into the T20I squad for the recent series against South Africa.
