Yami Gautam Asks Media to Keep Her Photos Unaltered
Yami Gautam asked the media to show her public-event photos as they were originally taken.
She said people should not use AI to change someone’s picture without that person knowing and agreeing.
Reports disagree about whether she posted her message on X or Instagram Stories.
Her request came amid concern about AI-made celebrity videos.
One such video changed a song clip featuring Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor into sexually explicit material, according to reports.
Gautam did not say that this video was the reason for her request.
Jr NTR condemned the spread of the altered video.
Gautam is preparing for a film called Nayyi Navelli.
It is scheduled to release worldwide on October 16, 2026.
Yami Gautam asked media outlets to publish photographs from her public appearances in their original form, without AI alteration or enhancement.
She said AI manipulation of a person’s image or likeness should not happen without that person’s knowledge and consent.
Reports differ on where she posted her appeal: most say X, while one says Instagram Stories.
Her appeal came amid reports of a sexually explicit, AI-morphed version of the Chuttamalle video featuring Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor; Gautam did not cite a specific incident.
