Delhi Plans Anganwadi Shift to MCD Schools, Honorarium Increase

Delhi wants to move many anganwadi centres out of rented buildings.

The centres would instead operate in Municipal Corporation schools.

The government says this could give children better facilities, such as toilets, parks and play areas.

It also plans to build better and more permanent spaces within two years.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said anganwadi workers’ honorarium will be increased.

The government has not said how much the increase will be or when it will happen.

Anganwadi workers care for children and support pregnant women.

They also help with surveys, vaccinations and government services.

Workers will be honoured through programmes in every assembly constituency.
