UltraTech’s APCW in Tadipatri, Andhra Pradesh, won an award for water stewardship initiatives at the ASSOCHAM India Water Leadership Conclave 2025.
The award recognizes APCW’s efforts in drought-prone districts of Anantapur and Nandyal, which face severe water scarcity with only 450-500 mm of annual rainfall.
APCW implemented water harvesting structures, RO water plants, and livelihood training for women, focusing on millet-based food processing and micro-enterprise development.
These initiatives have created nearly 5 lakh m³ of water storage capacity and rainwater recharge capacity exceeding 11 lakh m³ annually, leading to increased crop yields and groundwater levels.
The unit has empowered local community institutions to manage water storage infrastructure, adopt micro-irrigation systems, and promote water literacy, benefiting 400 farmers, 150 women, and 415 hectares across the two districts.
