BHU Grad Linked to Multi-Crore Cough Syrup Racket
Shubham Jaiswal, a 33-year-old graduate from Banaras Hindu University, is accused of running a big illegal business selling special cough syrups that need a doctor's prescription.
He used his family's medicine business to buy lots of these syrups and then sent them to other places, even to different countries, without following the rules.
The police say he made fake papers to hide what he was doing.
Shubham says he didn't do anything wrong and is asking the court to help him.
His father was caught trying to leave the country and is now in police custody.
The police and another government team are still investigating and have caught many people involved in this illegal business.
Shubham Jaiswal, a BHU graduate, allegedly ran a multi-crore racket trading illegal codeine-based cough syrups.
He expanded his family's pharmaceutical business, creating Saili Traders in Ranchi to facilitate illegal distribution.
Allegedly routed syrups to Bangladesh and Nepal using fake bills and shell companies, generating substantial profits.
Shubham has fled to Dubai and is seeking the quashing of the FIR against him in the Allahabad High Court.
Investigations by UP Police and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) have led to multiple arrests and seizures of cough syrup bottles.
