Temples Closed for President and Eclipse

Temples Closed for President and Eclipse

Two important temples in India will be closed for different reasons.

The Jagannath Temple in Puri will be closed for over two hours on February 4 because the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, is visiting.

She will arrive in Puri on the evening of February 3 and perform a special ritual called Pind daan the next morning.

The temple will open at 4 AM, but the public can only enter before 6 AM.

The President will be received by the Gajapati Maharaja and will have darshan of the deities from 7:40 AM to 8:20 AM.

After that, the temple will reopen to the public.

The President's visit to Odisha will last six days, during which she will also visit other districts.

Additionally, the Tirumala Temple will be closed for 10 hours and 30 minutes on March 3 due to a lunar eclipse.

The eclipse will start at 3:20 PM and end at 6:47 PM.

The temple will close six hours before the eclipse begins and will reopen at 7:30 PM, followed by purification rituals.

Darshan for devotees will resume from 8:30 PM onwards.

Due to the eclipse, several special services and darshan opportunities will be cancelled.

Devotees are advised to plan their visits accordingly to avoid any inconvenience.
