Uttar Pradesh Expands Healthcare and Pension Support for Elderly Residents

Uttar Pradesh Expands Healthcare and Pension Support for Elderly Residents

Uttar Pradesh runs 75 old age homes for senior citizens.

The government is arranging weekly visits from doctors at each home.

Doctors check residents’ blood pressure, sugar levels, eyes, and general health.

They also provide needed medicines for free.

The homes are adding activities such as yoga, meditation, television, and library use.

These activities are intended to support residents’ physical, mental, and social well-being.

There are 6,607 seniors living in the homes.

Many residents are also receiving pensions and Ayushman Cards to help with financial and healthcare needs.
