Kishan Reddy Urges Telangana Farmers to Lead White Revolution 2.0
G Kishan Reddy wants farmers in Telangana to work together in dairy cooperatives.
A new dairy plant for Amul’s Sabar Dairy is being built in Toopran.
The project is expected to cost Rs 400 crore and take 18 months to complete.
It will turn local milk into many foods and drinks.
Reddy said this could create jobs for women and young people.
He also said cooperatives can help farmers get better access to markets and processing.
Sabar Dairy grew from collecting 5,100 litres of milk each day in 1964 to 50 lakh litres today, according to Reddy.
The government’s target is to create 1,525 new dairy cooperatives in Telangana by 2029.
Union Minister G Kishan Reddy urged Telangana farmers to lead the ‘White Revolution 2.0’ initiative through dairy cooperatives.
Amul’s new Sabar Dairy plant at Toopran is planned as a Rs 400 crore project, with construction targeted to finish within 18 months.
The plant is expected to process local milk into products including curd, buttermilk, paneer, ice cream and ghee.
