CIDCO Achieves Tunnel Breakthrough in Hetwane Scheme
CIDCO, a big organization, has finished an important part of a big water tunnel in Navi Mumbai.
This tunnel is part of a project called the Hetwane Water Supply Augmentation Scheme.
The tunnel is very long and goes deep underground.
Building it was hard because of the tough rocks in the area.
When the project is done, it will bring a lot more water to Navi Mumbai, enough to last until the year 2050.
A important person from CIDCO said this is a big achievement and will help the city have more water.
The company building the tunnel, Afcons Infrastructure Ltd, finished this part faster than planned.
CIDCO achieved a tunnel breakthrough in the Hetwane Water Supply Augmentation Scheme in Navi Mumbai.
The breakthrough involved complex engineering at a depth of approximately 100 meters below ground level.
The project includes constructing a 13.25 km raw water tunnel and a 15.4 km treated water tunnel.
Once completed, the scheme will increase CIDCO’s water supply capacity from 150 MLD to 270 MLD.
Afcons Infrastructure Ltd executed the breakthrough and plans to complete the project six months ahead of schedule.
