Denmark Tops Global Women’s Peace and Security Index

A report ranked 181 countries on how well women are included, treated fairly, and kept safe.

Denmark received the highest score.

Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and Finland also ranked near the top.

Most of the highest-scoring countries were in Europe.

Canada scored lower than Denmark, and the United States ranked 31st.

Afghanistan received the lowest score.

The report said only 7% of Afghan women have jobs, compared with 84% of Afghan men.

It also warned that worldwide progress for women has stopped improving quickly.
