US Seen Less Reliable Trade Partner, India's Growth Prospects Strong: S&P Economist
A top economist from S&P Global Ratings visited India and said that many countries now see the United States as less dependable for trade.
Because of this, countries like India are spreading their business and investment to different places to be safe.
The economist also said that India is the fastest-growing big emerging market, and its economy is doing very well.
He thinks India can keep growing between 6% and 7% for a long time.
This is seen as a great achievement, especially compared to how China used to grow.
He also mentioned that India is a bit of a closed economy, which helps it not rely too much on the US.
S&P Global Ratings economist Paul Gruenwald stated the US is now viewed as a less reliable trade partner.
Countries, including India, are diversifying trade and investment to hedge against global uncertainties.
Gruenwald highlighted India as the fastest-growing major emerging market with strong growth prospects.
He projected India could achieve a sustained growth rate of 6% to 7%.
India benefits from being a relatively closed economy, reducing its reliance on the US.
