PM Modi's global agri products call can boost millet-based businesses
India's leader, Prime Minister Modi, gave a big speech on Independence Day.
In his speech, he said India should share more of its food with the world.
He especially talked about millets.
Millets are tiny grains that are very healthy.
A businessman named Shubham Tiwari was very happy about this idea.
His company makes pasta, noodles and cookies out of millets.
He believes these foods can be sold in many countries.
India usually sends out raw farm foods to other countries.
Now it wants to make finished tasty foods to sell around the world.
This can create new jobs and help farmers earn more money.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his Independence Day address, emphasised the need to take millets and agricultural products to global markets.
Shubham Tiwari, founder and director of Shahdol-based Granoxy Naturals Private Limited, welcomed the vision as a major opportunity for agriculture and food-processing sectors.
Granoxy Naturals produces value-added millet products such as pasta, noodles and cookies, along with ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat foods.
Tiwari said India is moving beyond exporting raw agricultural commodities toward value-added products that meet international standards.
He said manufacturing, food processing and artificial intelligence could prove to be game changers for India's economy and employment in the coming decade.
