Delhi Announces Yamuna Cleanliness Drive With University Student Pledge

Delhi is starting a large campaign to help clean the Yamuna River.

Thousands of students from 30 Delhi University colleges will join on October 18.

They will promise to help protect the river.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also launched an app called ‘Main Bhi Yamuna Prahari’.

The app lets people register and join the campaign.

Gupta said the government cannot clean the river alone.

She asked young people to encourage their families and communities to help.

Officials said more than Rs 3,000 crore has been allocated for cleaning the Yamuna.

The campaign is connected to wider cleanliness activities held around Gandhi Jayanti.
