ABVP Gives Jadavpur University Six Months to End ‘Naxal Influence’

ABVP Gives Jadavpur University Six Months to End ‘Naxal Influence’

The ABVP is a student organization linked to the RSS.

It says Jadavpur University has activities and political ideas it considers dangerous.

The group gave itself six months to change the campus.

It also wants India’s National Investigation Agency to investigate certain political graffiti.

The graffiti included the words “Azad Kashmir” and “Free Palestine.”

ABVP members deny damaging the campus or starting fires.

Some teachers and students believe video footage may show ABVP supporters taking part in vandalism.

The dispute follows a clash between ABVP-linked and Left-leaning students.

Police and the university have already taken action over some of the graffiti.
