HGCL to Audit Hyderabad ORR for Safety Improvements
Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited, a government agency, wants to make the big ring road around the city safer.
They will hire a safety expert to look at every part of the road, from the main lanes to the bridges and underpasses.
The expert will collect data on all the accidents that have happened and watch traffic for many hours each day.
They will find the spots where crashes happen most often, called black‑spots, and suggest fixes like better signs or road markings.
The results will help the government and the company that maintains the road make it safer for everyone.
HGCL will hire a safety consultant to audit the 158‑km Outer Ring Road (ORR) in Hyderabad.
The audit will collect accident data, conduct traffic surveys, and map black‑spots to identify safety hazards.
Surveys will run at least eight hours daily, covering peak periods, and may extend to 16‑24 hours based on conditions.
The audit will examine all road infrastructure, including carriageways, interchanges, toll plazas, underpasses, bridges, and pedestrian crossings.
Findings will be reported to HGCL and IRB Golconda Expressway Private Limited, with recommendations for road, bridge, and signage improvements.
