Waymo Expands Robotaxi Services to Dallas and Beyond
Waymo, a company that makes self-driving cars, is expanding its robotaxi service to Dallas next year.
This means people in Dallas will be able to call a driverless car.
Waymo already has this service in several other cities like Phoenix and Austin.
Other companies like Tesla and Amazon are also working on their own robotaxis.
Waymo started working on this technology back in 2009, and it's now ahead of the competition.
They are also planning to expand outside the U.S., with a potential launch in Tokyo.
Waymo plans to launch autonomous ride-hailing services in Dallas, Texas, next year.
Dallas will be the second major Texas city for Waymo, following its Austin launch earlier this year.
Waymo will operate its Dallas service independently, managing its fleet with Avis Budget Group.
Waymo's rivals include Tesla, Amazon's Zoox, Uber, and Lyft, which are also developing robotaxi services.
Waymo's ride-hailing service debuted in Phoenix nearly five years ago and is expanding to Tokyo.
