Maharashtra Plans MMR Agriculture Markets, Dapchari Site Eyed
Maharashtra is planning to build three big, modern markets for farmers in the Mumbai area.
One of these markets will be located in Dapchari, close to a new, large port called Vadhavan.
A special group is looking for about 1,000 acres of land in Dapchari to build this market.
The markets will help farmers in the area and make it easier to sell and export their goods, especially from the new port.
The markets will replace the existing market in Vashi.
Maharashtra plans to develop three international-standard agriculture markets in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).
One market is proposed for Dapchari, near the upcoming Vadhavan Port.
A committee is formed to find approximately 1,000 acres of land in Dapchari.
The markets aim to serve MMR and boost agricultural exports from the Vadhavan Port.
The Dapchari market may be an alternative to the existing Vashi market.
