Indian Children Prefer AI Over Parents for Advice
A new study called the Vivo Switch Off Report 2025 found that many Indian children are turning to AI for help instead of their parents.
The study showed that 72% of children spend the most time with their parents during dinner, and 91% of children say conversations feel better when phones are put away.
However, 67% of children use AI because they feel their parents are too busy.
About 54% of children aged 10–16 use AI for homework and personal growth, and 33% even see AI as a friend.
Parents spend more time on their phones than children, which affects family moments like movie time and celebrations.
The study suggests that families are trying to limit screen time to improve their relationships.
