Prosecutors Review Whistleblower Claims JPMorgan Mismanaged Fraud Cases

A person who worked at a big bank named JPMorgan Chase says the bank didn't do enough to protect customers from criminals who trick them out of their money.

Her name is Christy Lillie, and she was in charge of stopping scams at the bank.

She says the bank sometimes refused to give customers back money that was stolen from them.

The bank says those payments were scams, so it didn't have to pay customers back.

Government lawyers in New York City looked at what she told them.

The lawyers haven't said the bank did anything wrong yet, and they may still be investigating.

The bank says the claims aren't true.

Lillie was put on paid leave from her job and later left the bank.

Many people in America lose a lot of money to scammers every year.

No one has decided yet whether the bank broke any rules.
