Alstom Seeks 200-Locomotive Follow-On Order From Indian Railways

Alstom and Indian Railways are talking about making 200 more electric locomotives.

These trains would be built at a factory in Madhepura, Bihar.

The factory was created to produce 800 freight locomotives.

So far, 650 locomotives have been delivered.

The original order is expected to be finished by March 2028.

Alstom’s land lease lasts for 35 years.

The agreement allows Indian Railways to order 200 more locomotives.

It also allows the factory to make other railway products, but the two sides have not decided what will happen yet.
