Man Charged in Sweden for Alleged Islamic State Attack Plot
A young man in Sweden is accused of planning a big, scary attack at a festival in Stockholm.
Prosecutors say he was by himself, inspired by a group called Islamic State, and wanted to hurt many people.
He allegedly bought things to make a bomb and even planned to record the attack.
He was caught because police used a special trick with an undercover agent who pretended to be his friend in the extremist group.
The man is also accused of planning a murder in Germany with another young person.
However, the man says he didn't do anything wrong and denies all the accusations.
An 18-year-old Syrian-Swedish dual national has been charged with planning a terrorist attack at the Stockholm Culture Festival.
Prosecutors allege the man was self-radicalized and pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group.
The suspect was arrested in February after allegedly reconnaissance and purchasing bomb-making materials.
He is also indicted, along with a 17-year-old, for planning a murder in Germany.
The man denies all charges.
