Tata Stocks Rally After RBI Rejects Tata Sons’ Private Bid

Several Tata Group companies saw their share prices rise after a decision by the Reserve Bank of India.

The RBI rejected Tata Sons’ request to give up its registration as a large financial company.

This could mean Tata Sons may have to sell shares to the public through a stock market listing.

Investors bought Tata-related shares because they expect such a listing could happen.

Tata Chemicals rose the most, gaining 20%.

Tata Investment Corporation gained 15%.

However, Tata Trusts and some Tata leaders want Tata Sons to remain private.

Tata Sons could also challenge the RBI’s direction.
