Hollonghabi Tea Estate Disburses Puja Bonus to Workers

Workers at the Hollonghabi Tea Estate in Assam have received their bonus payments before Durga Puja.

This tea garden was the first in the state to give out the bonus.

Around 499 workers benefited from the bonus.

Most tea companies agreed to pay workers a 20% bonus.

Some companies are giving the bonus in two parts due to financial issues.

Negotiations between tea companies and the Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha are almost done.

Other tea gardens will start disbursing soon.
