AFI Challenges Asian Games Measurement of Shaili Singh’s Jump

Shaili Singh competed in the long jump at the Asian Games.

She finished fourth and did not win a medal.

Her fourth jump was officially recorded as 6.41 metres.

The Athletics Federation of India says officials measured that jump incorrectly.

It believes the measured distance was shorter than Shaili’s actual jump.

India’s Ancy Sojan won silver with a 6.53-metre jump.

China’s Huang Yingying won gold with 6.55 metres.

AFI says it will take the disagreement to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
